What does working with a doula network mean?+
You build your relationship with one primary doula. House of Birth also draws on a trusted professional network for backup support when needed, so your care is thoughtfully protected.
What training do you have?+
Your primary doula is trained through Carriage House Birth, with a care philosophy grounded in calm presence, informed choice, bodily autonomy, and nonjudgmental support.
When should I reach out?+
You can reach out at any point in pregnancy or postpartum. Connecting earlier gives us more time to prepare together, but you are always welcome to ask about current availability.
Where do you provide support?+
House of Birth serves expectant and new parents across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Tell us your borough and anticipated birth location in the inquiry form so we can talk through the details.
What happens during the free consultation?+
The 15-minute consultation is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation about your due date, the support you are looking for, and whether working together feels like the right fit.
Can support be customized?+
Yes. Every family and every transition is different. Custom packages can combine prenatal, birth, postpartum, and birth-processing support around what would be most useful to you.
What is a birth processing session?+
It is a dedicated space to tell your birth story and explore what the experience meant to you. It can support people processing a beautiful, complicated, traumatic, surprising, or simply life-changing birth.
Do you offer pro bono support?+
A limited number of pro bono and reduced-fee spaces may be available based on financial need and current capacity. House of Birth warmly welcomes inquiries from all families and is especially committed to affirming care for people who have historically faced barriers to birth support, including LGBTQ+ families and families of Color. Share what would make care accessible to you in the inquiry form.
